How we work and how we are paid
Business Cyber Check helps organisations of 50 to 5,000 people understand their cyber risk, and introduces them to independent specialists when they want help. This page explains what we do, what we do not do, and how we are paid.
What we do
- Publish plain-English Insights, News and Guides on cyber risk, written for security teams, CISOs, finance and the board.
- Offer a free cyber risk review and free sector briefings, with plain-English findings.
- Introduce you, only if you ask and agree, to independent security specialists, breach lawyers and, for cover, authorised insurers or brokers.
What we do not do
- We are not an insurer or broker. We do not provide insurance quotes or advice, and we do not recommend policies.
- We do not certify, accredit or audit organisations against Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001 or any other standard.
- We do not pass your details to anyone you have not agreed to hear from on the form.
How we make money
Our reviews, briefings and introductions are free for you, with no obligation. We are paid by the specialists, insurers or brokers we introduce you to, not by you.
[Placeholder: confirm with your partner agreements whether an introduction changes the price a client pays, and say so here.]
Who receives your details
Only the people you agree to on the form. If you ask about cyber insurance, your answers may go to up to 3 authorised insurers or brokers, who may contact you about cover. For a risk review or briefing, Business Cyber Check and up to 3 independent specialists may contact you, which may include authorised insurers or brokers. The partner list shows who they may be.
How long we keep form submissions
Form submissions are deleted from this website after 30 days. Anyone we introduce you to handles your details under their own privacy notice. Our privacy notice explains your rights.
How to check an insurer or broker is authorised
Insurers and brokers that deal with UK customers are normally authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. You can look any firm up on the FCA Financial Services Register before you share anything with them.
